The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, has partnered with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) for a youth basketball clinic on Wednesday, March 21. The clinic includes a Swarm player as well as kids from several local YMCA locations.

“Health and wellness is a pillar of our social responsibility,” Swarm President Steve Swetoha said. “As an organization, we want to impact the community in meaningful ways. With Blue Cross NC, we can work together on educating young people on the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle through basketball. We are thrilled to host this event in our Fieldhouse.”

The clinic will focus on different aspects of playing basketball, including stations for lay-ups, ball handling, shooting, defense, passing and much more. Staff from the Swarm and Charlotte Hornets will help facilitate the drills, with a Swarm player actively involved.

“This clinic is a wonderful way for kids to do something active together and strengthen their love for play while developing a commitment to fitness that can last a lifetime, “said Blue Cross NC’s Vice President of Integrated Marketing and Community Engagement Reagan Greene Pruitt.

The Swarm conclude its home schedule of the 2017-18 season the day prior to the clinic when hosting the South Bay Lakers at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, at The Fieldhouse. Greensboro concludes the regular season with a road-road, back-to-back starting on Friday, March 21, at Grand Rapids and finishing on Saturday, March 22, at Windy City.
