Greensboro Swarm Acquire Archie Goodwin

November 30, 2016 – The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA Development League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, today announced the team has acquired guard Archie Goodwin off waivers.

Goodwin (6-5, 200, Kentucky) was drafted 29th overall by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2013 NBA Draft before being traded to the Phoenix Suns on draft night. During his rookie season, he appeared in 52 games for the Suns, averaging 3.7 points and 1.7 rebounds in 10.2 minutes of play per game. That same season, Goodwin made his first appearance in the NBA D-League with the Bakersfield Jam while on assignment from Phoenix. Goodwin has played in 153 NBA games (starting in 15) and has a career average of 6.2 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists. This season he played in three games for the New Orleans Pelicans before being released by the team on November 20.

The Swarm’s next matchup is Thursday, Dec. 1 versus the Texas Legends, the D-League affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks. The game will tip off at 8 p.m. ET at Dr. Pepper Arena and will be broadcast on Facebook Live.
