By Greensboro Swarm Staff /November 11, 2017

The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, today announced a partnership with Bank of America to honor service members and veterans at all home games at the Fieldhouse at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex for the 2017-18 season. The first-year partnership, in conjunction with the NBA’s Hoop for Troops campaign, aims to celebrate servicemen and women, and their commitment to service.

“We are honored to partner with Bank of America to celebrate U.S. servicemen and women,” said Greensboro Swarm President Steve Swetoha. “Our organization values and appreciates the sacrifice and commitment by service members to protect our freedom. With the help of Bank of America, we look forward to recognizing and creating a memorable experience for our servicemen and women throughout the season.”

“Every day, we look for ways to thank the thousands of military veterans and their families in our community for their service,” said Derek Ellington, Triad Market President for Bank of America. “We’ve provided financial services to the U.S. military since 1920 and today we also honor them by connecting service members to the training, education and resources that put them on the path to financial stability.”

For the 24 home games at the Fieldhouse, Bank of America will reserve courtside seats for an honorary service member or veteran. Prior to the start of the fourth quarter the Swarm will recognize the honored guest for their dedication and service.

The NBA has a long history of working with the military through its Hoops for Troops program.
In recognition of Veteran’s Day in November, teams and players will be celebrating those who commit to service. To better communities across the country, the league will continue to work side by side with service men and women.

As a part of the Hoops for Troops Week (Nov. 7-15), the Swarm will offer two complimentary tickets to each service member, veteran or first responder with proper identification to the Nov. 14 game against the Erie BayHawks. Tickets can be claimed at the Fieldhouse box office that night, starting at 5:30 p.m. If any additional tickets are needed beyond the two complimentary, they can be purchased at $12 each.

In addition to the complimentary tickets, the Swarm will include those servicemen and women in attendance in pregame festivities, on-court promotions and other game night entertainment. The players will be wearing a Hoops for Troops shooting shirt in celebration as well.
