Swarm Acquire Cat Barber As Returning Rights Player

The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, announced today that the team has acquired guard Cat Barber as a returning rights player. In a related transaction, the Swarm waived guard Brent Arrington.

Barber (6-2, 175) appeared in appeared in 40 games (39 starts) last season with Greensboro and the Delaware 87ers, averaging 16.4 points on 42.9 percent shooting to go with 4.7 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game.

The former North Carolina State was acquired last season on February 3 in a trade with Delaware. In his 19 games with the Swarm he averaged 18.8 points on 42.3 percent shooting with 5.3 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 1.1 steals per contest.

Barber started the 2017-18 season with Enel Brindisi in the Italian Lega A, appearing in seven games and averaging 10.4 points and 2.8 assists.

Arrington appeared in three games with the Swarm this season. He averaged 3.7 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 9.2 minutes per game.

Next for the Swarm is the team’s first nationally televised home game on Thursday, November 30, against the Northern Arizona Suns on ESPNU. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. The game is also the first collection night for the Swarm Holiday Drive.
