Swarm Acquire Archie Goodwin As Returning Rights Player

The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, announced today that the team has acquired guard Archie Goodwin as a returning rights player. In a related transaction, the Swarm waived guard Dominic James.

Goodwin (6-5, 205) appeared in 34 games (33 starts) last season with Greensboro. He averaged 17.3 points per game on 43.8 percent shooting to go with 5.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.2 steals.

The former University of Kentucky standout was the No. 29 selection of the 2013 NBA Draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder. His most recent NBA experience was with the New Orleans Pelicans (2016-17) and Brooklyn Nets (2016-17). Goodwin spent his first three season in the league with the Phoenix Suns (2013-16).

Prior to joining the Swarm a season ago, the Little Rock, Arkansas, native had G League experience with the Bakersfield Jam (2013-15).

James appeared in 11 games this season with Greensboro, averaging 2.3 points, 1.7 assists and 1.1 rebounds in 9.8 minutes per game.

The Swarm return to action on Friday, December 15, at the Fieldhouse at the Greensboro Complex Coliseum against defending G League champion, Raptors 905. Tip is set for 7 p.m.
