Greensboro Swarm Fall in Battle Against Raptors 905

The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, hosted Raptors 905 (Toronto Raptors affiliate) in Tuesday’s School Day Game, presented by Novant Health. The Swarm were unable to pull out the win in today’s 123-116 loss, however, the team was able to fight back in the fourth quarter in front of a sold-out crowd of 2,211 which is the highest crowd at a Swarm game since 2018 (2,167).

Raptors 905(4-1) jumped to an early lead in the contest and were up 23 going into the half. The team saw career-high performances from Gabe Brown with 23 points and eight rebounds, and Ron Harper Jr. with 29 points. The Raptors also received 25 points from veteran Reggie Perry.

The Swarm (2-3) saw Mark Williams, on assignment from the Hornets, gain his fifth double-double of the season with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Anthony Duruji also notched a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Jalen Crutcher (27) and Kobi Simmons (25) led the team in scoring.

The game became a battle in the third and fourth quarter. Greensboro, who were down after the first half, was able to outscore their opponents in the third quarter and cut the deficit to seven in the final frame, though the 905 came out on top.

The Greensboro Swarm will be back in action at the Novant Health Fieldhouse this weekend with a doubleheader against the Long Island Nets (Brooklyn Nets affiliate) on Friday, November 18 and Saturday, November 19 at 7 p.m. ET.
