Greensboro Swarm to Honor Frontline Workers

The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, will host Frontline Workers Night presented by Novant Health on Friday, March 24 as the team takes on Raptors 905 (Toronto Raptors affiliate) at the Novant Health Fieldhouse starting at 7 p.m.

The night will include the team wearing special themed jerseys that will be auctioned off during the game with proceeds benefitting Novant Health Foundation’s Employee Emergency Fund. In addition, the fans who purchase these jerseys will have the opportunity to get them autographed by the player and take a photo following the game. There will also be a co-branded t-shirt given to the first 500 fans in attendance.

“We are so appreciative of our long-term relationship with our friends at Novant Health.  Part of this unique relationship is our ability to work together to honor frontline workers who were, and continue to be, vital in keeping our communities safe,” said Swarm President Steve Swetoha. “This season-long recognition, along with raising awareness and funds for the Novant Health Foundation’s Employee Emergency Fund through our jersey auction, allows us to show our support for these special individuals.”

As part of recognizing the community’s frontline workers, the Swarm will highlight Novant Health’s Heart and Vascular Institute on court to celebrate the opening of its new lab at Novant Health Kernersville Medical Center. The lab is the first step in larger expansion plan to bring state-of-the-art care to Kernersville and western Guilford County.

“Our partnership with the Greensboro Swarm is centered on our commitment to bring the Triad together and inspire community members of all ages to live healthier lifestyles,” said Kirsten Royster, President and Chief Operating Officer at Novant Health Kernersville Medical Center. “We are honored to partner together again this year to honor all frontline workers across the region who dedicate themselves to the wellbeing of our community.”

This will be the second season that the Swarm are honoring the frontline workers in the Triad community in game. As a part of this initiative, players and Swarmy visited with staff at Novant Health Kernersville Medical Center on March 23.
