The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, announced today the theme and promotion schedule for the 2019-20 season. Additionally, single-game tickets for the 24 home games at the Fieldhouse at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex are now on sale and can be purchased at gsoswarm.com, ticketmaster.com and at the Coliseum Box Office.
“We are excited to announce our theme and promotion schedule as we prepare for our fourth season in Greensboro, in the NBA G League,” Swarm President Steve Swetoha said. “Our rabid fan base and the support from the Triad continues to grow. We look forward to entertaining our fans at the Fieldhouse starting in November.”
The Swarm begin the season with the annual School Day Game, presented by Novant Health, against the Westchester Knicks (New York Knicks affiliate) on Wednesday, November 13. The Windy City Bulls (Chicago Bulls affiliate) visit Greensboro for Opening Night, presented by Blue Ridge Companies, on Friday, November 22.
The Charlotte Hornets Takeover Night returns on Friday, January 10, against the Erie BayHawks (New Orleans Pelicans affiliate). UNC Greensboro presents Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, January 20, versus the Iowa Wolves (Minnesota Timberwolves affiliate). Later in the month on Saturday, January 25, the Swarm will host Girl Scouts Night as the Lakeland Magic (Orlando Magic affiliate) visit the Fieldhouse.
Three theme nights are in February, starting with Faith and Family Night on Friday, February 7, against the Grand Rapids Drive (Detroit Pistons affiliate). Next, on Saturday, February 22, is Community Heroes Night against the Capital City Go-Go (Washington Wizards affiliate). Allegacy Federal Credit Union will once again present the Swarm’s only Theme Jersey Night, on Saturday, February 29, versus the College Park Skyhawks (Atlanta Hawks affiliate).
The 2019-20 season concludes on Saturday, March 28, with Fan Appreciation Night, also presented by Allegacy, against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (Indiana Pacers affiliate).
As for promotions, the Swarm introduce Fieldhouse Fridays and Autograph Saturdays.
For each Friday home game, fans can purchase hot dogs for $1, Pepsi cans for $2 and Natural Light cans for $2, presented by R.H. Barringer. Additionally, fans can shoot free throws on the court postgame. On Saturdays, players will sign autographs postgame for fans in attendance.
In total, the Swarm play at home on 14 dates that fall on a Friday or Saturday.
“With a large number of our home games on a Friday or Saturday, we continually look at different opportunities to enhance our in-game experience,” Swetoha said. “With the addition of Fieldhouse Fridays and our ongoing team autographs on Saturdays, our promotions are the best yet.”
Single-game tickets are now on sale, starting as low as $12.
