Barford, Gillon & Onuaku To Attend NBA G League Elite Camp
By Greensboro Swarm Staff /May 6, 2019
The NBA G League announced today that 40 NBA Draft hopefuls and 40 of the NBA G League’s top prospects from the 2018-19 season are expected to attend the 2019 NBA G League Elite Camp, which will take place May 12-14 at Quest Multisport in Chicago.
Replacing the NBA G League Elite Mini Camp, the three-day event will give prospects eligible for the 2019 NBA Draft an opportunity to showcase their skills in front of NBA and NBA G League scouts, coaches and front-office executives. The event will also continue to give top NBA G League prospects from the previous season a chance to be evaluated.
The two groups of athletes will participate separately in five-on-five games and strength and agility drills. The NBA G League players will attend the first two days of the NBA G League Elite Camp and the 2019 NBA Draft prospects will participate in the second and third days. There will be no overlap between the draft-eligible athletes and the NBA G League players on the second day.
A select number of players from the draft-eligible group will be invited to participate in the 2019 NBA Draft Combine based on their performance in the NBA G League Elite Camp. The NBA Draft Combine will be held May 14-19 in Chicago.
