By Greensboro Swarm Staff /February 10, 2020

The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, announced today that Community Heroes Night on Saturday, February 22, at the Fieldhouse at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex is to be presented by Truliant Federal Credit Union. Throughout that evening, the Swarm will honor local first responders for their service and sacrifices.

“We have established a strong partnership with Truliant Federal Credit Union to honor the courage and strength of first responders in our community,” Swarm President Steve Swetoha said. “Our combined efforts hope to shed light on the dedication, passion and tireless efforts of those who risk their own safety for others. We look forward to this memorable night.”

Leading into the game, Swarm players and front office staff will join Truliant employees to hand delivery tickets to Community Heroes Night to first responders at a local police department and fire station. Then at the game, a number of first responders will be included during the in-game entertainment and in special on-court recognitions.

“When we create more awareness around the important work done by these individuals each day, we build stronger communities and ensure that Greensboro thrives. By offering our members access to a better banking alternative, Truliant shares the conviction of first responders: we’re here to improve lives in our communities,” said Tricia Beeker, marketing director at Truliant.

“Our first responders are public servants who put their lives on the line. At Truliant, we understand and appreciate the dangerous and difficult work they do each day. This is a small way we can give back and recognize them for facing danger head-on to keep our communities safe,” said Atticus Simspon, Truliant’s director of community engagement and government affairs.

In addition to being the presenting partner of Community Heroes Night, Truliant has a season-long ‘Tru Fan of the Game’ social media campaign. One fan at each of the 24 home games is randomly selected to receive a Truliant prize package, which includes a photo on the Swarm’s social media platforms as the fan of the game.
