The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, today announced that the team has signed a multi-year partnership with returning partner Allegacy Federal Credit Union, with several assets, including the opportunity to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank with a season-long Dunks for Hunger campaign.

“We are thrilled and excited to welcome back the wonderful team at Allegacy and look forward to working together benefiting Second Harvest Food Bank and uplift our community through the Dunks for Hunger program,” Swarm President Steve Swetoha said. “What a perfect way to give back for an important cause in our community.”

“This partnership with the Greensboro Swarm provides a unique opportunity to shine a light on the amazing work that Second Harvest Food Bank does in our community to address food insecurity, one of Allegacy's philanthropic priorities,” said Lori Timm, Allegacy’s Community and Financial Wellbeing Manager. “We look forward to seeing many dunks this season and ensuring that everyone has the food that they need to thrive.”

This partnership directly supports the organization’s community pillars of hunger and wellness as five dollars is donated to Second Harvest Food Bank for each Swarm player dunk at home this season.

“The Second Harvest Food Team is excited for the season ahead with Allegacy and the Swarm Dunks for Hunger Campaign,” stated the organization’s CEO Eric Aft. “We appreciate the leadership and example of these organizations whose commitment to supporting our essential mission comes at a time when requests for food assistance are on the rise, under the weight of increasing costs of living across the 18 counties Second Harvest serves.” There will be a check presentation at the end of the regular season on-court to announce the total number of dunks throughout the year to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank.
