Greensboro Swarm Hosts Capital City Go-Go in Eastern Conference Semifinals

By Greensboro Swarm Staff /April 2, 2026

GREENSBORO, NC – The playoff picture continues to run through Greensboro, as the Greensboro Swarm (2) take on the Capital City Go-Go (6) on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. ET at Novant Health Fieldhouse.

The Swarm (24-12) advanced to the Semifinals after defeating the No. 7-seeded Maine Celtics, 112-90, on Tuesday, while the Go-Go (19-17) handled the No. 3-seeded Cleveland Charge, 126-123, on Wednesday evening. Greensboro would earn the right to host the Eastern Conference Semifinals on Sunday, April 5, with a win and an Osceola Magic loss.

Tickets for Friday’s playoff game are available here, with coverage also available on Samsung TV Plus.

Defense Wins Championships

Greensboro entered the NBA G League Playoffs presented by Google with astounding offensive metrics, leading the league in points (126.2), field goals made (45.6) and free throws made (13.7) and attempted (17.6) while slotting fourth in field goal percentage (49.3%).

Despite this, it was the defensive side of the ball that played the catalyst in the Swarm’s 112-90 win against the Maine Celtics. After a first quarter that saw the Swarm lead 39-31, the Celtics never drew above 25 points in a frame again, including a 13-point showing in the third quarter. The Celtics ended the game shooting 39.8% from the floor, while Keon Johnson, who led the team in scoring in March, posted eight points on 3-of-17 shooting.

For the Swarm, it was the fewest points it has allowed opponent all season long and the Celtics’ fewest points during the calendar year.

Stop and Go

Just as the Swarm parlayed a colossal third quarter on Tuesday – the Go-Go notched its upset bid against the No. 3-seeded Cleveland Charge with a 41-point third quarter and a second half that saw it outscore Cleveland, 75-65.

Capital City trailed by as large as 12 during the game, clashing between 21 lead changes and four ties to ultimately close out the victory. Leading, 124-121, with 10 seconds to go, Go-Go players Alondes Williams and Skal Labissiere combined to miss four-straight free throws – giving the Charge a chance to tie play.

Off the inbound, Chris Livingston fouled Darius Brown, cutting the Go-Go’s edge to one point. After two responding free throws from Alondes Williams, Riley Minix miscommunicated on his inbound pass, sailing the ball out of bounds and back to Capital City.

The potential game-tying free throws never came, as Minix stole the inbound at halfcourt and launched a 32-foot 3-pointer that hit the iron.

In play, Williams erupted for 39 points, Livingston added 27 and Kadary Richmond logged 21 points off the bench. Center Skal Labissiere also placed 18 points and eight rebounds in action.

Swarming The Stat Sheet

Greensboro has carried unique starting lineups in more than 30 contests this season – with the assignment of Tidjane Salaun adding an additional wrinkle to the roster against Maine.

With two-way players Tosan Evbuomwan and PJ Hall and assignments Liam McNeeley and Tidjane Salaun in the fold – the Swarm saw contributions across the roster, with all five starts placing double-digits, but no one breaching the 20-point threshold in play.

Marcus Garrett and Hall led the way on Tuesday with 18 points apiece, with Jaylen Sims adding 16 points in the starting lineup.
