GREENSBORO – The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, hosted more than 450 aspiring sports professionals for its third-annual Sports Industry Night.

The event, hosted on Saturday, Feb. 7, at Piedmont Hall, featured 12 sports organizations from across North Carolina and included attendees represented from 25 states and more than 100 universities.

“Our Sports Industry Night has grown tremendously year over year,” said Greensboro Swarm Team President Steve Swetoha. “This record-setting event showcases the passion and dedication of everyone in our community who wants to learn, connect and grow in the sports industry. We’re proud to provide a platform that fosters education, networking and career development.”

The event featured a panel with Swetoha, Chanel Johnson (HR Manager, HSE, Charlotte Hornets), Kenny Bores (Recruiter, Sports Media Technology Corp) and Callie Cane (Manager of Social Media Services, Greensboro Grasshoppers), who shared insights on career paths, industry trends and opportunities for students and early-career professionals in the sports industry.

Following the panel, future sports professionals were also given tours of the Swarm’s business offices, providing a look at work functions within an NBA G League organization.

In addition to the event, attendees also received the option of tickets for one of its upcoming home games on Feb. 11 and 12, both against the Capital City Go-Go at 7 p.m. ET.
