Swarm, Triad Goodwill Team Up For 2018-19

By Greensboro Swarm Staff /February 25, 2019

The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, today announced it has partnered with Goodwill Industries of Central North Carolina (Triad Goodwill). The partnership features the opportunity for fans to donate in exchange for a complimentary ticket at the Fieldhouse at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex as well as in-game promotions.

“We are fortunate to work with Triad Goodwill as we align with them in our community efforts,” Swarm President, Steve Swetoha said. “This opportunity to make a positive impact within the community is very important. We share common values in supporting the Triad and hope fans actively participate with donations.”

When fans arrive at the Fieldhouse, they can now donate gently used clothing and shoes in the Triad Goodwill outdoor bin before entering the game. If fans get a photo of their donation and the Goodwill slip on the side of the bin, those can be presented to the Fieldhouse box office for a complimentary ticket to a future game (pending ticket availability).

Additionally, the in-game promotion, the Triad Goodwill Fast Frisbee Contest, gives two participants 30 seconds to toss Frisbees into a makeshift donation bin.

“Linking with the Greensboro Swarm was an excellent opportunity to increase the reach and awareness of our mission,” Triad Goodwill Marketing Director, Teresa Smith said. “When people donate or shop at a Triad Goodwill, 85 cents of every dollar spent goes back to our mission of providing low-cost and free job training. The Swarm supports our mission to improve the lives of families through the value of work, so why not have a little fun while sharing our mission?”

The Swarm will also have a presence at Triad Goodwill locations with The Goodwill Guy and the team mascot, Sergeant Swarm.
