Hornets Convert Caleb Martin To Two-Way Contract

Charlotte Hornets President of Basketball Operations & General Manager Mitch Kupchak announced today that the team has converted the contract of guard Caleb Martin to a two-way contract. Additionally, the team has waived guard Ahmed Hill.

Martin originally signed with the Hornets on July 31, 2019 after going undrafted in the 2019 NBA Draft. The Mocksville, NC native averaged 19.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 34.1 minutes per game as a senior in 2018-19 in his senior season at Nevada. The 6-7 forward was named to the 2018-19 All-MWC First Team as well as the MWC All-Defensive Team. Martin led all conference players in three-point field goals (107) and steals (49) in 2018-19.

Martin appeared in all five preseason games for the Charlotte Hornets, averaging 9.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 20.6 minutes per game.

Hill, an undrafted free agent, originally signed with the Hornets on Sept. 4. The Virginia Tech product appeared in four preseason games for the Hornets averaging 1.8 points, 0.8 rebounds and 0.3 assists in 5.7 minutes per game. The Augusta, Georgia native averaged 11.0 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game over 134 appearances in his four-year career as a Hokie.
