McGriff Earns NBA Call-Up From Portland Trail Blazers

The Portland Trail Blazers signed Greensboro Swarm forward Cameron McGriff to a 10-day contract under the NBA's Hardship Exception. McGriff is the first Swarm player to get an NBA Call-Up this season and the fourth to receive one in team history.

McGriff (6-7, 220) has appeared in each of Greensboro's 14 games this season, carrying averages of 10.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 22.4 minutes. The former standout at Oklahoma State University has scored double figures in a team-best nine games for the Swarm this season.

Prior to joining the Swarm, McGriff was on the Charlotte Hornets training camp roster. The Grand Prairie, Texas, native went undrafted in 2020 but played professionally in the top tier Belgian league (BNXT) with Okapi Aalstar in 2020-21. He averaged 13.5 points and 5.0 rebounds in 27.7 minutes over 27 games that season.

The NBA G League begins the regular season on January 5. The Swarm return to action at Long Island against the Nets (Brooklyn Nets affiliate) on January 7 at 7:00 p.m. ET.
