By Greensboro Swarm Staff /November 12, 2019

The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, today announced that Novant Health will present the School Day Game for Guilford County School students, and the health and wellness program ‘Time Out For Fitness.’ The sold out School Day Game for GCS fourth graders is set for Wednesday, November 13, at 11:00 a.m.

“We are excited to partner with Novant Health to pack the Fieldhouse with GCS students for our educational health and wellness game,” Swarm President Steve Swetoha said. “We have the opportunity to educate local youth on the importance of living a healthy and active lifestyle through basketball. We are fortunate to have Novant Health support us for this game and the ‘Time Out For Fitness’ program.”

Kirsten Royster, president and chief operating officer at Novant Health Kernersville Medical Center added, "Novant Health is dedicated to the improvement of health, one person at a time. We're proud to partner with the Greensboro Swarm for an event that helps fulfill this commitment by promoting health and wellness in our community."

The School Day Game enters its second season at the Fieldhouse at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex. At the sold out game last season, the Swarm prevailed, 122-116, over the Westchester Knicks (New York Knicks) in triple overtime. The 2019-20 edition also faces the Swarm against the Knicks.

‘Time Out For Fitness’ is the Swarm’s 30-minute program that promotes health eating, exercising and living an active lifestyle for local area youth. Led by Sergeant Swarm, mascot of the Greensboro Swarm, the entertaining program consists of high-energy skits, exciting games and other educational activities that focus on nutrition and exercise. The program aligns with Novant Health’s encouragement of healthy eating and physical activities.

Additionally, the Swarm in-game promotion team the ‘Buzz Brigade’, will be presented by Novant Health. The ‘Buzz Brigade’ is responsible for fan engagement and making the Fieldhouse one of the toughest venues to play at in the G League.

In all, the relationship with Novant Health runs in conjunction with NBA FIT, the leagues comprehensive initiative that encourages physical and mental wellbeing for fans of all ages. For more on NBA FIT, visit fit.nba.com.
