Swarm Acquire Caleb Grill, Future First-Round Pick

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Greensboro Swarm General Manager Cole Teal announced today that the team has acquired guard Caleb Grill and a 2027 NBA G League first-round pick (via Windy City) from the Windy City Bulls in exchange for center Ibou Badji and a 2026 NBA G League second-round pick (via Greensboro).
Grill (6-3, 205) joins the Swarm after averaging 11.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 26.9 minutes across 19 regular-season games. He improved upon his Tip-Off Tournament production, where he averaged 9.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 17.8 minutes over 14 games.
A native of Wichita, Kan., Grill has been a consistent threat from beyond the arc, knocking down multiple 3-pointers in all but four regular-season games this season. He has connected on five or more 3-pointers in a game three times, including a 6-of-12 performance against the Swarm on Feb. 2 and a 7-of-13 outing against the Maine Celtics on Feb. 12, when he finished with a career-high 26 points.
Grill, 26, went undrafted in the 2025 NBA Draft after spending his collegiate career at Iowa State, UNLV and Missouri. He was named SEC Sixth Man of the Year with the Tigers in 2024-25 after averaging 13.7 points and 3.6 rebounds while shooting 39.6% from 3-point range.
Badji (7-1, 231) averaged 5.1 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in 15.6 minutes across 27 appearances in all competitions for the Swarm. In 18 regular-season games, he posted averages of 5.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.3 blocks in 16.5 minutes.
