Swarm Adds Connor Burchfield

The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, announced today that the team added Connor Burchfield via the available player pool as a FIBA replacement player. Burchfield will join the Swarm on Friday, February 15, while center Chinanu Onuaku is at training camp with Team USA for World Cup Qualifying.

Burchfield (6-4, 175) comes to Greensboro after a stint with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, where he appeared in four games. The Concord, North Carolina, native also played nine games with the Austin Spurs this season after he was selected No. 26 overall in the 2018 NBA G League Draft. In 13 total games this season, he has averaged 2.2 points and 1.3 rebounds in 8.7 minutes per game.

A four-year standout at William & Mary, Burchfield capped his career as the nation’s top three-point shooter in 2017-18. His .520 shooting from long range as a senior set the William & Mary and Colonial Athletic Association record. He started 28 of 31 games his final season in Williamsburg, Virginia, and averaged 12.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 30.5 minutes per game.
