Swarm Announce Multiple Transactions

The Greensboro Swarm, the G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets today announced that the team has completed multiple transactions. The Swarm added C.J. Elleby to the roster and finalized a trade with Raptors 905 (Toronto Raptors affiliate).
The Swarm acquired C.J. Elleby, a Washington native who played collegiately for Washington State where he was All Pac 12 First Team. Elleby was the 46th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft by the Portland Trailblazers. Across 88 career NBA games, he averaged 4.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.1 assists. He spent the 22-23 season with the Iowa Wolves and the Salt Lake City Stars where he averaged 10.3 points, 5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists across 39 games.
Greensboro agreed to trade guard Kobi Simmons’ rights to the Raptors 905 for the returning rights of Gabe Brown and Sterling Brown. Gabe Brown, a Michigan native, played for Raptors 905 last season where he averaged 12.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. Sterling Brown, an Illinois native, has played six years in the NBA across various teams. Last season he played for the Raptors 905 where he averaged 15.5 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 4.5 assists across 26 games. As part of the acquisition, the Swarm waived Alex Lomax. Elleby will be in uniform tonight, Wednesday, November 22, as the Swarm tip off against the Maine Celtics at 7 p.m. at the Novant Health Fieldhouse.
