The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, announced today that the team has completed a trade with the Sioux Falls Skyforce (Miami Heat Affiliate). In the deal, Greensboro has agreed to trade the returning rights of Gabe Brown and their 2024 second-round pick for Marcus Garrett. In addition, the Swarm acquired Jaire Grayer from the NBA G League Player Pool and waived C.J. Elleby.

Garrett, 25, began his pro career on a two-way contract with the Miami Heat in 2021. He played in 12 career NBA games for the Miami Heat during the 2021-2022 season. Garrett went undrafted in 2021, following a collegiate career for Kansas where he was named Naismith Defensive Player of the Year in 2020 and was a 3-time Big 12 All-Defensive team selection (2019-2021). The 6-5 guard has played in a total of 38 NBA G League games with the Sioux Falls Skyforce across the 21-22 and 22-23 seasons averaging 9.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game.

Grayer, 27, has played in 32 career NBA G League games across the last two seasons between the Osceola Magic, Wisconsin Herd, and Indiana Mad Ants where he has career averages of 7.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game.

Garrett and Grayer will join the Swarm as they travel to compete against the College Park Skyhawks on Wednesday, December 13 at 7 p.m. ET.
