Swarm Fall To Vipers, 120-115, End Franchise-Record Streak

EDINBURG, Texas – The Greensboro Swarm saw their franchise-record six-game regular-season winning streak come to an end on Friday night, falling 120–115 to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers at Bert Ogden Arena. The loss moved Greensboro to 6-2 on the season.
The Swarm opened the game with strong energy, jumping out to an early lead and carrying a 64-52 advantage into halftime behind efficient scoring and solid interior play. Greensboro led by as many as 14 points and controlled the paint early, finishing with 58 points in the paint and 19 second-chance points.
Keyontae Johnson paced Greensboro with a team-high 30 points on 11-of-16 shooting, adding six rebounds in another efficient performance. Terrell Brown Jr. continued his strong play with 22 points, knocking down four three-pointers and dishing out five assists, while Eric Dixon added 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting.
The Swarm also received balanced contributions throughout the lineup. Jaylen Sims recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while KJ Simpson chipped in 10 points and six assists. Josiah Allick added 10 points off the bench, and DJ Rodman contributed seven points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
Rio Grande Valley mounted its comeback in the second half, outscoring Greensboro 68–51 after the break, including a decisive 37-point fourth quarter. The Vipers shot 50.6% from the field and capitalized on turnovers, scoring 23 points off 19 Swarm giveaways.
The Vipers were led by Tristen Newton, who finished with a game-high 34 points, along with five assists and four steals. Daishen Nix added 21 points, while Cameron Matthews contributed 16 points and Efe Abogidi posted 13 points and 10 rebounds.
The Swarm complete its back-to-back set tomorrow night against the Vipers.
