Swarm Select Five Players In The NBA G League Draft

The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, announced today the selection of five players in the 2021-22 NBA G League Draft. With three first-round picks, Greensboro selected LiAngelo Ball (No. 14 overall), Chudier Bile (No. 23) and Tyree White (No. 26) in addition to Ikenna Ndugba (No. 54) in the second round and Isaiah Blackmon (No. 77) in the third round.

Ball, 22, was most recently a member of the Hornets roster at the 2021 NBA Summer League where he averaged 9.6 points on 38 percent shooting to go with 2.0 rebounds and 1.6 steals in five appearances. Ball previously played for BC Prienai in the Lithuania Basketball League where he averaged 12.6 points and 2.9 rebounds in 14 games during the 2017-18 season. He was undrafted in 2018.

Bile, 23, was on the Denver Nuggets 2021 NBA Summer League roster and appeared in two games. Undrafted in 2021, the Denver native played his senior collegiate season at Georgetown University. In 25 games (14 starts) for the Hoyas, Bile averaged 10.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 23.4 minutes.

White, 24, played for the Milwaukee Bucks at the 2021 NBA Summer League. In five appearances, the St. Louis native averaged 1.8 points and 2.6 rebounds in 9.6 minutes. Undrafted out of the University of Louisiana-Monroe in 2020, White played for the Niagara River Lions in the Canadian Elite Basketball League for the 2020-21 season.

Ndugba, 23, went undrafted out of Elon University in 2022. The Boston native held averages of 10.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steals in 19 games for the Phoenix in 2020-21. Prior to Elon, Ndugba was a four-year player for Bryant University.

Blackmon, 25, most recently played for Besiktas Icrypex in the Turkish Basketball Super League. The Charlotte native played collegiately at St. Francis University where he earned 2020 Northeast Conference Player of the Year honors after averaging 18.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.5 assists in 34.1 minutes over 30 games. Blackmon was undrafted in 2020.
