GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Greensboro Swarm delivered a historic performance on Monday night, setting a franchise scoring record and establishing the longest regular-season winning streak in team history with a 149–119 victory over the Grand Rapids Gold at Van Andel Arena.
Greensboro poured in a franchise-best 149 points for the second time during its 2025–26 campaign, surpassing its previous record of 145 points set against the Delaware Blue Coats during the NBA G League Tip-Off Tournament. The Swarm shot 56.7% from the field and 42.1% from three-point range, erupting for at least 34 points in every quarter en route to the decisive road win.
Keyontae Johnson led the way with a dominant performance, scoring a career-best 40 points on 14-of-18 shooting, including a perfect 5-of-5 from beyond the arc, while adding seven assists. Johnson’s outing marked the ninth-highest scoring game in franchise history, the third-highest in a win, and tied a Swarm record for most three-pointers made without a miss.
The Swarm’s offensive efficiency was matched by unselfish ball movement, as Greensboro recorded 31 assists on 55 made field goals while committing just nine turnovers. Jaylen Sims finished with 23 points, nine rebounds, and five assists, while Josiah Allick added a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds off the bench. Terrell Brown Jr. contributed 16 points and eight assists, and KJ Simpson chipped in 16 points, six assists, and three steals.
With the victory, Greensboro improved to 6–1, moving atop the NBA G League standings and setting a franchise record with six consecutive regular-season wins. After dropping its regular-season opener to Grand Rapids during the NBA G League Winter Showcase Tournament, the Swarm has rebounded with six straight victories, beginning with a win over the San Diego Clippers on Dec. 21.
The Gold were led by James Akinjo, who recorded 32 points and 10 assists, while Terrence Hargrove Jr. added 25 points and Javante McCoy scored 24, but Grand Rapids was unable to keep pace with Greensboro’s relentless scoring attack.
The Swarm will look to continue their historic run as they move forward in the regular season, now moving on to face the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Jan. 9 and 10.
