The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, announced today that the team will host an Open Practice at the Fieldhouse at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex on Saturday, October 30, with doors opening at 10:00 a.m. ET and the event beginning at 10:30 a.m. Fans are encouraged to register to attend by clicking HERE.
The Open Practice is a part of the 5th Anniversary celebration, presented by Blue Ridge Companies. The event will allow fans to watch a Swarm Training Camp practice as the team prepares for the Home Opener on Friday, November 5. Guests in attendance will receive a complimentary t-shirt as well as being eligible to win other prizes. Attendees will also have the opportunity to get autographs from the players. Complimentary parking is offered with confirmed registration.
"It's been over twenty months since we have watched NBA G League basketball in our building and we are excited to open the doors to the Fieldhouse so our fans watch some Swarm basketball," Swarm President Steve Swetoha said. "Our fan base continues to support us and this event gives all fans an early glimpse of what our young and exciting team is going to look like this season. We will have plenty of giveaways, new merchandise on sale and a few surprises planned for everyone. Basketball is back and we hope to see everyone at the Fieldhouse."
Once doors open, the team will be practicing on the Swarm court under first-year head coach Jordan Surenkamp. Seating will be available in sections 102 to 105 with staff helping direct fans around the facility. Practice should run for approximately 90 minutes.
As with all Swarm games and events at the Fieldhouse, guests must follow important health and safety protocols. All persons throughout Guilford County, regardless of one's vaccination status, must wear face coverings when indoors, unless actively eating or drinking. All fans seated within 15 feet of the court must be fully vaccinated or provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test. Fans wishing to sit in these impacted areas are asked to download the CLEAR App HERE, where they can upload proof of vaccination or negative test. Alternative seating options will be available as well. For updated information on health and safety, visit gsoswarm.com/WelcomeBack.
