Dr. Colton Wood, of Novant Health Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Thomasville and Lexington, serves as the Greensboro Swarm’s dedicated team physician. Dr. Wood completed medical school at the University of Georgia. He went on to complete his family medicine residency at the University of Virginia, and his sports medicine fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist, and enjoys being able to customize programs that are specifically designed to help his patients excel at their sport of choice. Dr. Wood previously served as assistant sports medicine physician for the Carolina Hurricanes (NHL), as well as for sports teams at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, North Carolina Central University and High Point University.

Novant Health is proud to be the official sports medicine provider for High Point University athletics and Salem Academy and College student-athletes. The sports medicine team also provides athletic training coverage for numerous middle and high schools across the Triad.
